A self-made entrepreneur with a diverse business portfolio that spans over 40 years, almost half of which was spent in the food industry. Mr. Al Shorafa heads a group of companies in the field of ready-made garments trading and retail, real estate development, as well as food manufacturing and trading. He is also a shareholder in several companies in Egypt, KSA, Palestine and the UAE. He established Green Field for Food Industries as a small trading office back in 2002. The small practice established a solid reputation in the Middle East region and started reaching major markets such as the UAE, KSA and Kuwait.
Mr. Al Shorafa then, being the visionary he is, identified the opportunity in dealing directly with the suppliers he’s worked with for many years and decided to expand his food business and establish Farm Food in 2009, a frozen fruit and vegetable processing and packaging plant that has a production capacity of 10,000 MT. He chose the location to be in the heart of Egypt’s beautiful farms in the North East city of Ismailia. Building on his work experience as well as his belief in the quality of Egypt’s fresh produce, Farm Food grew to reach new markets such as Europe and Asia. Under his leadership, the factory operations are now home to circa 140 employees and producing a wide range of products such as peas, beans, okra, strawberry and pomegranate; to name a few. It is worth noting that Mr. Al Shorafa takes so much pride in Farm Food being a professional family business, with his sons and daughters supporting the business operations through multiple roles.

Mohamed heads Farm Food’s operations. His experience over 15 years covers multiple industries including retail, construction/real estate and of course the food industry. Mohamed joined Farm Food in 2012 following a career in Dubai, UAE with local industry leaders with turnovers in excess of USD 300 million, leading business units such as sales, marketing, operations and business development. His work in the UAE helped him develop strong expertise as well as multiple relationships in the business across the Arab region and internationally. Mohamed’s main focus besides operations, is to grow the business to produce world class quality standards. He has spearheaded the business development and marketing efforts, launching Farm Food in its new brand identity and entering new markets.
As per the company’s strategy, Mohamed aims to increase Farm Food’s presence in Europe and establish it as a main player in the frozen food industry in the region. Working side by side the Chairman, Mr. Maher Al Shorafa, and under his leadership and guidance; Farm Food has expanded its operations to become a fully automated production plant with international certifications, and will soon grow to be a leading player in the frozen food industry.
